Neighborhood Leaders Working Together
Landmark and Historic Districts Group
The Mission of the Landmark and Districts Group is to provide an effective collective voice for the City of Atlanta’s Historic and Landmark Districts. With representatives from each District, the Group convenes under the umbrella of Atlanta Preservation Center.
Currently (October 2014) the City of Atlanta has 13 locally designated neighborhood districts: Adair Park, Atkins Park, Cabbagetown, Castleberry Hill, Collier Heights, Druid Hills, Grant Park, Inman Park, Martin Luther King Jr., Oakland City, Sunset Avenue, West End and Whittier Mill Village.
The Group began in 2003 as an effort to support and strengthen the role of the Urban Design Commission. Enforcement of District regulations is a continuing focus of the Group. The Group meets regularly with the executive director of the Atlanta Urban Design Commission.
